The Portuguese Conferences on Fracture are held every two years in the context of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Materiais since 1987.

The last edition of the Portuguese Conference on Fracture (12th) took place in Porto at the campus of Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto on 17-19 March 2010 and was a joint event together with the XXVII Encuentro del Grupo Español de Fractura, the IVth Iberian Conference on Fracture.

The 13th Portuguese Conference on Fracture (PCF2012) will be held in February 2nd and 3rd 2012 in Coimbra.The papers will be published in the Proceedings of the Conference. A special number of the journal of SPM “Ciência e Tecnologia dos Materiais” will be published with selected papers.
