International Corporate Defense - Environmentally
Responsible Munitions (ERM) Technical Arrangement N.°
B0423-GEM2-ERG Project Objectives This Project intends to
give a contribution in a partnership with other European countries (United
Kingdom, UK, Netherlands, France, Norway and Romania) in research associated
to the environmental impacts of military ammunitions (Green ammunitions).
According this, the main goals are: • Develop/build a database with relevant information
regarding the energetic materials; • Perform an analysis of the emissions related to the detonation
phase of military ammunitions. • Perform an environmental assessment to the military
ammunitions entire life cycle. Assessing the impacts related to manufacture
of the energetic materials and the assembly, as well as the impacts related
to the detonation phase, and determine the impacts associated to the
demilitarization process and valorization (recycling) of the energetic
materials and its incorporation in civil explosives (Emulsion explosive) for
